Course Details

Join us for one of America's most scenic marathons an Sunday, April 10, 2005. A truly beautiful and varied 26.2 mile course that starts in Downtown Toledo in front of our host hotel and takes the runners on a tour of both sides of the Maumee River and the communities of Rossford, Perrysburg, and Maumee before returning to a new finish alongside the river in Downtown Toledo. New this year is a companion 5K race that runs along the river and through the historical Toledo Warehouse District. Both courses are USATF certified.

Awards, Prizes & Goodies

Marathoners and relay team members receive a polo shirt, 5K runners receive a long sleeve shirt. Pre-registered kids receive a t-shirt. All Marathoner finishers will receive a custom design medal & finisher certificate. All Marathon and relay entries receive the traditional Glass City Marathon glass mug. No awards or shirts will be mailed without prior arrangement. Plus door prizes at the awards ceremony!

 

Overall Awards - Marathon

Savings Bonds - The top five(5) individual Male & Female finishers will receive U.S. Savings bonds as follows:
(1st Place $500; 2nd Place $200; 3rd Place $100; 4th Place $100; 5th Place $50). Plus each will receive a special trophy. The top Overall Masters Male & Female finishers will receive a $200 U.S. Savings Bond. No Duplication of awards.

Age Group Awards - Marathon & 5K

Male & Female: and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49,50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Older

Weight Division Male 200-220 lbs., 221 lbs and Over. Female 140 lbs and over. No duplication of awards.

 

Awards - Kids 1 Mile & 1/2 Mile

For Children 13 and under: 1st male & female. All finishers receive a finisher's medal, marathon bear and a goody bag.

Event Record Bonus - Marathon

Set a new event record in the marathon and receive a $50 saving bond. Run an Olympic marathon qualifying time and receive a $100 savings bond

Relay Teams Marathon

Awards to the top three(3) teams in each of the six(5) relay divisions both both two person and five person teams. Please note that relay team members are not eligible for age group awards.

Entry forms for each team member are necessary and MUST be sent in together.

Two person Relay 13.1 miles each
Five Person Relay 5, 5, 6, 5.5, and 4.7 mile legs
ALL MALE Open, Masters
ALL FEMALE Open, Masters
Mixed (at least 2 females in 5 person) Open, Masters
Family Any combination from one family.
School Any combination of students from same school, one teacher permitted.
Corporation Any combination from one business.
Relay teams are not eligible for age group awards. Entry forms for each team member are necessary and MUST be sent in together. Relay Team Members can not be running the entire marathon.

 

Race Expo - Registration

Registration is located in the second floor ballroom of our host hotel, The Wyndham, where you can visit fitness vendors, get last minute running supplies, enjoy free popcorn and sport drinks, and take care of your race registration. Expo hours are:

    Saturday, April  9, 2005 - 12:00 Noon - 7:00 pm

      Sunday, April 10, 2005 - 6:00 am - 7:45 am

 

Pre-Race Pasta Dinner

Enjoy a wonderful pasta dinner at The Spaghetti Warehouse (42 S. Superior St.)on Saturday night and support the Glass City Marathon Charities. $12 per person with all proceeds going to The Exchange Club Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse of Northwest Ohio our 2005 local charity. Tickets sold at the Race Expo with shuttle service from the host hotel.

New this year, our host hotel is Toledo's Number One Downtown Hotel. Registration & Race Expo are inside with the race starting line in front and the finish line behind the hotel. Enjoy both race weekend convenience and a beautiful view of the river and downtown from your room. Indoor pool/spa and fitness center. Special Marathon Room rate of $89 plus tax includes late check out. To receive this special rate, please make your reservations by 4/1/2005.
